This two-owner sailing yacht is comfortable and easy to handle. "Storm Rider" has spent the majority of its life cruising the pristine waters of Georgian Bay. The current owners have mainly cruised with family and friends, and it has been a comfortable boat to handle as a pair.
As the owner notes, "I can say the boat is stable, had good speed, and is easy to handle – she just felt good! For us, it was all about the liveability. The boat had a good setup for handling her either motoring or sailing and had a great interior layout."
"Once you got the feel for her, she handled exceptionally well when motoring around tight quarters in marinas and slips. The boat handles well on all points, except downwind when main sail interferes with shrouds, providing the sails are reefed and trimmed properly. Sails well with little weather helm when properly trimmed. Tacks well, even in high winds. Weather helm is not especially problematic. The master suite forward with an adjacent head and shower, a double guest stateroom with adjacent head/shower aft on the starboard side, balanced to port. There is lots of cockpit room for entertaining, working the sails on short voyages on extended journeys, or sitting at anchor enjoying nature! This awesome sail yacht is comfortable and easy to handle. I would assume that this boat would be a heavy cruising boat that would stand up as well in high winds and sea conditions however, as a couple, we didn’t push for that kind of scenario"

The standard recessed windlass allows the capability of handling two anchors simultaneously on the dual offset anchor roller. Self-draining propane lockers on both port and starboard are convenient, safe, and practical. The Hunter trademark cockpit arch keeps the adjustable traveler up and out of the way and makes a great attachment point for the Bimini. Hand-rubbed teak and exquisite fabrics are in evidence throughout the grand interior, where storage is plentiful as is natural light and ventilation. The dinette area is large enough to handle the crew, but intimate enough for two. An enormous dual-opening refrigerator and freezer are central to the U-shaped galley. Force 10 stove and oven, plus a microwave, will make dinners a joy to prepare while the island sink will have cleanup covered. Storage for everything is at hand including the recessed trash receptacle. Entertaining is gracious with the open salon which incorporates a TV and CD stereo. Twin comfortable seats and a convertible cocktail table are located just forward of the extensive nav station with plenty of space for electronics and gear. The forward master stateroom rivals most yachts twice her size.
