Exceptionally Clean - Meticulously Maintained - 26 Hours on Rebuilt Engine - Pride of Ownership Throughout
This 1996 Bayliner 2859 Ciera Express is quite simply as clean as they come. She has benefited from exceptionally attentive ownership, with no expense spared when it comes to her care and presentation. The boat has been meticulously maintained, giving her an appearance that stands well above what you would normally expect from a vessel of this vintage. That level of care should come as no surprise — her owner is the Commander of the Midland Power and Sail Squadrons, and the boat reflects the pride, knowledge and attention to detail of a very experienced boater. From the moment you step aboard, it is obvious that this has not been treated as just another old cruiser. If you're looking for a 2859, it would be difficult to find one that presents better.
The 2859 Ciera Express has long been a popular Great Lakes cruiser thanks to its practical hardtop design, excellent use of space and versatile layout. At just under 28 feet with a generous 9'9" beam, she packs an impressive amount of accommodation into a manageable package. Unlike many express cruisers of this size, the 2859 offers a hardtop and semi-enclosed helm, providing excellent visibility and considerably more protection from the elements. Below, the clever layout provides a forward V-berth, convertible dinette, galley, enclosed stand-up head with shower, and a separate amidships berth tucked beneath the bridge deck — providing sleeping accommodations for up to six. A transom door, swim platform and functional aft cockpit round out a layout equally well suited to weekend cruising, fishing or simply spending a day on the water.
